Supporting Student Well-Being and Success

The overall well-being of students at Rutgers University-Camden important to us.  We help students get the most of their experience and help with pivoting to ensure that they are supported holistically.

CARES

The overall well-being of students at Rutgers University Camden Campus (RUC) is important to us.  We wish to help students get the most of their experience here at RUC by receiving the care, referrals, and answers they seek.  Thus, RU Raptor CARES works closely with faculty, staff, students, and families to provide care and support for students of concern who may be in distress.  It is important to RU Raptor CARES that all students know and understand that they are an important part of the RUC community.

Social Justice

Student Affairs strives to create an environment of inclusion which respects and affirms the inherent dignity, value, and uniqueness of all individuals, communities, and perspectives. Our practices reflect awareness and understanding of the complexity of identity and the increasing interconnectedness of our world. It is our responsibility to promote a community of compassion by embracing the rich dimensions of diversity and facilitating opportunities to express and understand both individual and shared truths.

Prevention Education

Rutgers-Camden uses evidence-based educational programs to provide students with cutting edge research and skills so they can be confident when making healthy and well-informed decisions.  We offer various programs around life skills, interpersonal dynamics, cultural competency, substance use and abuse, harassment, and interpersonal violence.  Our program consists of a mandatory online program and multiple in-person programs designed to enhance knowledge and decision-making skills.

Alcohol & Drug Programs

Alcohol and drug use on campus can range from non-drinkers to responsible drinkers, people seeking assistance with their alcohol and drug use, those in recovery, and everyone in between. We seek innovative ways to provide and increase awareness of resources, and to promote healthy behaviors, informed decision-making, and thoughtful choices which encourage resilience.
