The Camden Dean of Students Office provides supportive services, advocacy, and education in an effort to ensure students to be successful both personally and academically
Treating others with dignity and respect and preparing students to become productive members of society and good citizens of the world has been woven into our fabric since our founding in 1766. Discrimination, including sexual harassment and physical sexual misconduct, is not tolerated.
At Rutgers, we strive to create a beloved community that is welcoming, inclusive and supportive of all students’ academic pursuits. Experiencing or witnessing an instance of bias can be impactful – personally and academically. In addition to being responsive to incidents, we provide support to those directly affected as well as educational interventions to help community members learn and heal
The Division of Student Affairs at Rutgers University–Camden offers a comprehensive range of services designed to support student success and well-being. View a listing of key resources.
The mission of Rutgers University-Camden’s Student of Concern & Behavioral Intervention Teams (BIT) is to promote the safety and well-being of the RU-C community. The undergraduate and graduate/professional BITs provide an institutional framework for information sharing and development of support plans for students of concern. Potential behaviors of concern will be identified and addressed through education of campus constituents, so they are able to identify and communicate to the proper authorities in a timely manner.
The Behavioral Intervention Teams (BIT) are multidisciplinary teams focused on early intervention for any student who has raised concerns, who are struggling beyond academically due to life experiences. Students who are supported may be at risk of harming either themselves or others, or who pose a significant disruption to the living, learning or work environment. The teams receive and review reports of threats and other concerning student behavior for the purpose of developing a support plan that mitigates risk and promotes student well-being and success within existing University policies.
