Dive into Conversations on Poverty, Equity, and Justice April 9

The Rutgers Equity Alliance for Community Health, or REACH, is a collaboration between community leaders and university researchers focused on improving social determinants of health in the three cities where Rutgers campuses are located.
On April 9, you are invited to join candid conversations about poverty, equity, racial justice and their influencing factors during the REACH Poverty | Equity | Influencing Factors Symposium.
This free, all-day event is universitywide; in Camden, activities will be held in the Campus Center from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Meet with researchers, policy makers, and leaders of community organizations to learn about effectively engaging the issues related to poverty in our communities. We will also showcase of the work of Rutgers Camden researchers funded by the REACH grant, along with their partners and community participants.
Matthew Desmond, the Pulitzer Prize-winning and bestselling author of Poverty, by America, will deliver the day’s keynote address.
Panel discussions and presentations will cover the key social factors that drive REACH’s work, including how education, employment, food access and security, housing and population health impact overall community well-being.
Learn how Rutgers’ community partners, faculty, policy makers, and others are working together toward a healthier community and how you can get involved.
