Record-Breaking 400 Students Attend Rutgers–Camden’s Fall Undergraduate Open House

 A record-breaking 400 prospective students and their families attended Rutgers University–Camden’s fall undergraduate open house on Saturday.

The event, with health and safety measures in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19, attracted a turnout that surpassed even pre-pandemic open houses.

Guests strolled through the Campus Center’s Multi-Purpose Room to speak with admissions and financial aid counselors, and meet with faculty from Rutgers–Camden’s College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business and School of Nursing. The visitors also had a chance to tour the 40-acre campus, hear from current students and learn about life on campus, including athletics, clubs and civic engagement opportunities.

Craig Westman, vice chancellor for enrollment management at Rutgers–Camden, hailed the historic turnout as signifying a return to pre-pandemic normalcy.

“It’s a great sign that so many families are eager to visit the Rutgers–Camden campus as part of their college search process,” says Westman.

He further noted that the dramatic increase in attendance shows that more families are discovering the incredible value a Rutgers–Camden degree has to offer.

“For us to exceed the numbers we had prior to the pandemic shows that the word is spreading: a Rutgers–Camden degree offers world-class quality, access and affordability – right in our backyard,” says Westman.
