Dean of Students
Dean of Students Office
The Dean of Students Office provides supportive services, advocacy, and education in an effort to ensure that students are successful both personally and academically. Our mission is to empower, engage and support the educational goals of Rutgers University students by facilitating processes that: assist students in making better choices in regard to their behavior, provide an outlet for community members to address issues in conflict, and aid in the creation of a safer, more inclusive, learning community.
The Dean of Students Office consists of two main areas – the CARES Team and the Office of Community Standards.
CARES Team
The Dean of Students Office CARES Team provides options for assistance to students that are experiencing academic, financial, medical, mental health or other personal or family problems that will keep them from succeeding at Rutgers. The goal of the Dean of Students Office is to identify students who appear to be struggling or troubled and intervene providing them with the resources to be successful at Rutgers-Camden before the student reaches a distressful level.
Office of Community Standards
The Office of Community Standards handles all conduct related cases including violations of the University Code of Conduct, violations of the Academic Integrity Policy in conjunction with faculty, and violations of the On-Campus Housing & Residence Life Policies. We are responsible for issuing sanctions for all non-academic integrity offenses and oversees the process in which disciplinary action is implemented.
Reporting
If you are concerned for the immediate health and safety of the student you are reporting or someone else, please call 911 or the Rutgers Police Department at 856-225-6009.
