Rutgers Law School will launch an Online J.D. program in 2027, expanding access to a rigorous Rutgers legal education through flexible online coursework and in-person experiences. The program offers working professionals, caregivers and others a pathway to a law degree without relocating or leaving existing commitments.
Yamilex Ortiz’s childhood experience receiving legal assistance inspired her to pursue a career in public-interest law. After working as a Community Legal Services paralegal, she chose Rutgers Law–Camden for its supportive, diverse community. Now, she hopes to use her legal education to advocate for social justice and meaningful change.
