1990s
With growing enrollment and ambition, Rutgers–Camden invested in spaces for learning, wellness, and community. 1991 saw the gymnasium expansion, and in 1992 the Campus Center added a bookstore and health services, strengthening student support. The decade’s academic highlight came in 1995, when the Business School earned AACSB accreditation, distinguishing Rutgers–Camden as South Jersey’s only AACSB-accredited institution. In 1997, Roger Dennis—a distinguished legal scholar and former DOJ antitrust attorney—was appointed Provost, advancing academic programs and deepening the campus’s civic mission. The Honors Program launched the same year, later expanding into the Honors College.
