• Meet Rutgers–Camden admissions requirements
Incoming First-Year Students
Welcome to EOF at Rutgers–Camden
As a first-year EOF student, you’ll begin your journey in the Summer Institute — an immersive, no-cost program designed to prepare you for success
During Summer Institute, you will:
- Earn up to 6 free college credits
- Receive supplemental instruction and academic coaching
- Participate in a collaborative research project
- Build relationships with your EOF counselor, academic advisor, and faculty
- Create life-long friendships with peers
Important: Admission to Rutgers–Camden as an EOF student is contingent upon successful completion of the Summer Institute
Applying to EOF
EOF admission is highly competitive and space is limited each year. Most students apply through the Rutgers Admissions application by checking “Yes” to EOF. Applications open in September.
Apply to Rutgers University–Camden
Application Timeline
Step 1 — Apply to Rutgers
- Complete the Rutgers–Camden admissions application.
- Select “Yes” for EOF.
Step 2 — Complete the Supplemental EOF Application
- Sent by email after you apply.
- Already admitted but unsure if you submitted it? Contact admissions@camden.rutgers.edu.
Step 3 — Submit FAFSA
- Opens October 1st.
- Rutgers school code: 002629.
Step 4 — Monitor Your Rutgers Portal
- Submit Admissions & Financial Aid documents immediately.
Once all steps are complete and you meet EOF criteria, your EOF admissions decision will be posted to your Rutgers portal.
First-Year Students — Post-Enrollment / Exemp
What Does Post-Enrollment / Exempt Mean?
Not every student applies to EOF during their initial Rutgers application. If you’ve already been admitted as a first-year student and now believe you qualify, you may still be able to join EOF through our internal application process.
This pathway is designed for:
- Students who were admitted to Rutgers–Camden without selecting EOF on their initial application.
- Students who may have received an exemption from the Summer Institute due to special circumstances but still wish to participate in EOF during the academic year

Important Notes
- Admission through the post-enrollment/exempt pathway is not guaranteed and depends on program capacity and state eligibility requirements.
- Students admitted through this process still receive the same EOF support and services as other first-year students.
Transfer Students
EOF at Rutgers–Camden welcomes transfer students from other colleges and universities. Whether or not you previously participated in EOF, you must apply through our internal process to be considered for the program.
- Do not complete the EOF application in the Rutgers Admissions Portal — that is for first-year students only.
- All applicants must complete the Rutgers–Camden EOF internal application.
- If you previously completed a transfer EOF form at another institution, you may attach it to your application, but it does not replace our internal form.
- You must complete the FAFSA for the 2024–2025 academic year before applying.
- You must meet the 2024–2025 EOF income guidelines.

If You Are Admitted
