Interfaith Initiatives

Our campus is home to students from diverse spiritual backgrounds, including Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, and many others, creating a vibrant tapestry of community enriched by diverse global worldviews. Rutgers–Camden provides a robust environment for religious life, supporting students’ spiritual needs and encouraging interfaith dialogue, civil discourse, and spiritual reflection.

The university offers a range of student organizations, advisors and a chaplaincy group that provides guidance and support across a variety of faiths and spiritual practices. The Interfaith Council, comprised of diverse faith student leaders, campus faculty and staff, and Rutgers–Camden chaplains, fosters collaboration and understanding among different religious groups. This council encourages mutual respect and the pursuit of shared spiritual and intellectual truths.

Additionally, Rutgers–Camden provides interfaith prayer and meditation spaces that accommodate the spiritual needs of students from diverse traditions. These spaces symbolize the university’s commitment to inclusivity, religious diversity, and pluralism. Through these services, Rutgers University–Camden fosters a community where students can engage in meaningful spiritual reflection, build connections, and engage in civil discourse, all while honoring and celebrating their unique religious and spiritual practices.
