About DR. Dr. Rhonda Phillips
Dr. Rhonda Phillips serves as the 20th President of Chatham University and is the 10th woman to hold this position in the university’s 154-year history. Dr. Phillips has more than 30 years of experience as an innovative academic administrator, scholar, and author with significant private and public sector experience. She joined Chatham following completion of her decade-long role as the inaugural Dean of the John Martinson Honors College at Purdue University, an interdisciplinary 3,000 student residential honors college that under her leadership was named one of the Top 20 Honors College in the U.S. She was recently given the title Inaugural Dean Emerita. Dr. Phillips also was a 2019-20 American Council on Higher Education Fellow. She was inducted into the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Planning in 2016.

The Department of Public Policy and Administration celebrates the life and work of Dr. Robert F. Bailey with the annual Robert F. Bailey Memorial Lecture. Bob Bailey was a cherished member of the Rutgers–Camden Department of Public Policy and Administration. The Bailey Lecture was established to recognize the contributions he made to our students, his colleagues, our campus, and Rutgers University.
