The Following Courses in Art, Music, and Theater Are Being Offered in Fall 2024:

ANIMATION
Learn the fundamentals of 3D animation and visual storytelling. In this course, you will explore digital animation techniques ranging from 3D modeling to character animation. You’ll be introduced to the wide range of possibilities the animation industry has to offer while building your foundations using the latest software, such as Maya and Z-Brush. Students will collect their best works into an animation demo reel at the conclusion of the semester.

PORTFOLIO PREP
The Portfolio Prep course is designed for students interested in applying to art schools and colleges. This includes any media or concentration covering studio and digital visual arts. You will create a well-rounded portfolio that follows the expectations of prestigious art programs. You'll then apply this knowledge to your own work, showcasing the uniqueness and skill that you possess as an artist. In addition to artistic skill development, you will learn the standards of presentation for portfolio reviews and familiarize yourself with the admissions process.

MUSIC TECHNOLOGY AND PRODUCTION
Music Technology and Production is focused on the creative use of computers and synthesizers. Students will work with Digital Audio Workstation applications doing recording, tracking, sequencing, editing, sampling, and processing as well as working with notational software. Participants will be working individually and in groups, experimenting with creating contemporary music using industry-standard software. The primary emphasis of this course is learning professional recording studio production techniques.

FILMMAKING
This course is designed to introduce film production to students who are interested in making short films. Students will gain a basic understanding of visual narrative, storytelling, camera operation, and editing work in post-production. Participants will have a chance to practice these techniques through producing their own films. By the end of the course, students will complete two major projects that they will have worked on individually and in groups.

The cost of this 8-week program is $325.
