This will be an opportunity to engage in a dialogue about the state of Latinos in Education from national and local perspectives. Focus will be placed on what works and how do we engage multisectoral organizations to address some of the issues that the Latino community is facing. While Latinos have made strides in improving educational attainment at all levels, they still lag behind when compared to Whites and African Americans. In 2019, the Education Trust pointed to the inequities of degree attainment levels when Latinos are compared to other subgroups. Latinos continue to be the fastest growing population and the implications for the Latino community and for the United States as whole are concerning. The panel will provide demographic data, will highlight trends, share promising practices and discuss what can be done to improve this statistic.
