Eminent Business Leader Series: Kris Kolluri, Esq.

Rutgers School of Business–Camden is delighted to host Mr. Kris Kolluri, Chief Executive Officer of the Gateway Development Commission and former President & CEO of Camden Community Partnership, INC., for the Second Annual Eminent Business Leader Speaker Event: Catalysts for Transformation from 4:00 – 5:00 pm, followed by a reception, on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
In this fireside chat style event, Mr. Kolluri will share perspectives on wide ranging topics, including his personal and professional journey, the role of business leaders as catalysts for social good, building infrastructure and communities, and leading change. The event will be held in Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) of the Campus Center (326 Penn St, Camden, NJ 08102) at Rutgers University–Camden. Light refreshments will be provided.

About Kris Kolluri
Mr. Kris Kolluri is an Infrastructure management and operations expert with experience running multibillion-dollar public transportation and infrastructure agencies such as mass transit systems, toll roads and a school construction organization. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Gateway Development Commission (GDC), a bistate public entity overseeing the $16.1 B Hudson Tunnel Project. Previously he served as the President & Chief Executive Officer of Camden Community Partnership, Inc., an economic and community development non-profit organization. He has specific expertise in outcome-based project development, financing, and implementation, which he developed working in the United States Congress, state government, and the private sector.
Kris previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Rowan University/Rutgers-Camden Board of Governors (Joint Board). During his tenure, he oversaw the development of the first-of-its-kind multi-institutional research and teaching facility. He implemented the Medical Assistants Training Program and the Alzheimer’s Patient Navigator Program, which were a pathway to serve an important community health need and create employment opportunities for Camden residents. Prior to his appointment as Chief Executive Officer of the Joint Board, he served as Counsel at the law firm of Windels Marx Lane and Mittendorf, where he advised clients on transportation and economic development matters.
Kris also served as the Chief Executive Officer of the New Jersey Schools Development Authority’s (SDA). At SDA, he oversaw the state’s $5.3 billion school construction program, focused primarily on socio-economically disadvantaged communities. Prior to leading SDA, Kris served as the Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT). In his capacity as NJDOT Commissioner, he also served as Chairman of NJ TRANSIT, the New Jersey Turnpike Authority and the South Jersey Transportation Authority, overseeing a total of 17,000 employees, more than $3.6 billion in capital funds, and over $2 billion in operating funds.
During Kris’ tenure as Commissioner of NJDOT, he played an instrumental role in helping develop a funding strategy to meet New Jersey’s contribution towards the ARC project, a nationally significant rail tunnel project connecting New Jersey and New York. In addition, under the Governor’s direction, he consolidated New Jersey’s transportation agencies in order to create a seamless statewide transportation network. As NJ TRANSIT Board Chairman, he championed the largest mass transit capital program in state history.
