Summary

The Chancellor’s Grant for Faculty Development in Administrative Roles supports full-time, tenured faculty members for professional administrative development in their first year in a new administrative role. Eligibility is for those in roles commensurate to that of a department chair, associate dean, dean, or above. Prospective applicants must identify the administrative development opportunity and have the support of the immediate supervisor. It is intended that the applicant’s respective area will provide some funding to support the applicant.

Criteria:

The Chancellor's Grant for Faculty Development at Rutgers University–Camden is intended to provide support for full-time, tenured faculty members who are transitioning into new administrative roles within the university. To be eligible for this grant, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Full-Time Tenured Faculty:

Applicants must hold a full-time, tenured faculty position at Rutgers University–Camden.

New Administrative Role:
  • Applicants should be transitioning into a new administrative role within the university or have transitioned within the past year.
  • Eligible roles include positions commensurate with a department chair, associate dean, dean, center/institute director, or above.
Development Opportunity:
  • Prospective applicants must identify a specific administrative development opportunity that aligns with their new role.
  • This opportunity should support their professional growth and effectiveness in the administrative position.
Immediate Supervisor's Support:
  • Applicants are required to obtain the support and endorsement of their immediate supervisor, such as the department chair, dean, or other relevant authority.
  • The supervisor should confirm the applicant's readiness and the potential benefits of the development opportunity.
Financial Support from the Respective Area:
  • It is expected that the applicant's respective academic department, center, institute, or administrative area will provide some funding or support for the applicant's development.
  • The applicant should demonstrate the commitment of their area to invest in their professional growth.

Application Process:
