Welcome Back!

To the Rutgers University–Camden community,

Welcome back to campus for the start of the 2024–25 academic year! I trust you are feeling rejuvenated and inspired after an enjoyable summer break.

I first want to thank the faculty and staff members who have worked diligently to prepare for our return. From designing new courses to readying our facilities and grounds, these individuals have taken great care to make sure we will have an unforgettable semester. I want to highlight the renovations of 58 classrooms that took place over our summer break; these improvements will help our faculty elevate their instruction and provide an enhanced learning experience for our students.

I also want to offer a special welcome to our incoming first-year students, the Class of 2028! It was my pleasure to meet many of you during Move-In Day and the Raptor BBQ last week. I am incredibly heartened to become acquainted with the sharp-minded, eager scholars who are joining our academic community. I ask faculty, staff, and returning students to join me in extending greetings and support. The journey into higher education is not always an easy one, but the right guidance during those first steps can make all the difference.

Our new faculty members are poised to make a tremendous impact on our university. They come to Camden from all corners of our nation and world, and they each bring a track record of excellence. All four of our schools are welcoming new faculty into their ranks, and I cannot wait to see what these individuals will bring to our culture as teachers, researchers, and community-engaged scholars. Similarly, new academic staff have joined numerous areas within our community. We welcome their invaluable contributions to our community.

As we begin a new semester full of promise, let me remind you that you are part of the tradition that is Rutgers excellence in Camden. You are here because you belong. You have already achieved great things and have shown your capacity to go even further in the future. This academic year, we will witness the wonders that can happen when we come together to take Rutgers excellence to even greater heights.
