A Fond Retirement to Mary Beth Daisey, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs

Mary Beth Daisey, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs

Greetings, Rutgers University–Camden Community:

It is with deep appreciation for a career dedicated to serving our students that I share the news that Mary Beth Daisey, vice chancellor for student affairs, has announced her intention to retire from Rutgers University–Camden effective January 1, 2025.

Vice Chancellor Daisey joined the Rutgers University–Camden community as the assistant director of career services at the law school in 1993. She then became assistant dean of external affairs and career services whereby she directed career placement efforts as well as the law school’s alumni relations endeavors.

In 2003, Vice Chancellor Daisey was named to the campuswide leadership role of associate provost (later chancellor) for student affairs, which subsequently became vice chancellor for student affairs. She has overseen a wide array of student services, including residence life, the Career Center, the Student Wellness Center, campus involvement, athletics and recreation, the Campus Center, the Office of International Students and Global Programs, the Office of Military and Veterans Programs, and Title IX. Under her leadership, Rutgers–Camden launched significant resources that now serve our students, including the Office of Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance and the Scarlet Raptor Nest food pantry.

Throughout the past 31 years, Vice Chancellor Daisey has always prioritized our students. She has worked with unfailing compassion and empathy to help our students by connecting them to the resources throughout Rutgers – and outside of the university – that provide critically needed support in the pursuit and achievement of their academic and life goals.

Please join me in celebrating Vice Chancellor Daisey for her foundational work and thanking her for her service to Rutgers University–Camden. We wish her every happiness and enjoyment of the years to come.

The university will launch a search for a new vice chancellor for student affairs. In the meantime, and to ensure continuity for our students, Marsha Lowery has been appointed as the acting vice chancellor for student affairs.

Sincerely,

Antonio D. Tillis, Ph.D.
Chancellor
