Important Updates on Two Significant Initiatives

Dear Rutgers University in Camden Colleagues:

In an effort to align our internal processes and information technology systems to meet the expectations of our students, faculty, and staff, Rutgers has provided the following updates on two significant initiatives that will enhance our operations across the university. 
 

Common App

Beginning this week, all Rutgers chancellor-led units will participate in the Common App for first-year, full-time degree-seeking students. The Common App is a universal application system used by nearly 1,000 colleges and universities around the world and, and its use is expected to help increase the number of applications to Rutgers significantly. Prospective students may also continue to use the Rutgers Application and will need to choose only one platform to submit their application.
  
Rutgers’ participation in the Common App will not change our application review or overall admissions processes or deadlines.

HR/Payroll Transformation Initiative

The HR/Payroll Transformation Initiative is designed to transform the university’s human resources and payroll process services by standardizing practices, improving collaborations, and furthering a single identity and culture. This multi-year initiative will combine several existing platforms into a single system using Oracle’s Human Capital Management cloud-based solution. 
 
Phase I of the project, focused on payroll, benefits, compensation, and absence management among other functions, is set to go live in January 2025. The project team recently completed system and technical requirement reviews and will soon begin working on system prototype options for review. The project team also is working in close collaboration with representatives from all chancellor-led and central administration units on a full review of all functional business processes to align with the new system and further standardize, simplify, and streamline human resources and payroll operations across the university.
