Office of the Chancellor–Announcing Two New Leadership Changes, Effective August 7

Dear Rutgers University in Camden Community:

I am pleased to inform you of two leadership changes taking place in the Office of the Chancellor. As I continue to solidify my leadership team, these changes will affect the position of vice chancellor for public affairs and chief of staff, as well as the position of senior vice chancellor for finance and administration.

Effective August 7, Michael Sepanic, vice chancellor for public affairs and chief of staff, will begin serving in the new position of vice chancellor for governmental and external affairs. This new role reflects a heavier emphasis on the continued cultivation of relationships at the local, state, and federal levels of government. He will establish and implement short- and long-range goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures as they relate to government agencies, entities, and elected officials. In addition, he will work closely with non-governmental constituencies in South Jersey as the campus’ liaison.

Additionally, effective August 7, J. Robert “Bob” McKee, senior vice chancellor for finance and administration, will assume the role of senior vice chancellor for finance and administration and chief of staff. He will continue to oversee budgeting, finance, human resources, information technology, facilities, and public safety. As chief of staff, Bob will be responsible for planning and directing administrative and operational activities on my behalf, organizing, prioritizing, and solving critical issues. He will manage day-to-day logistics and provide oversight of strategic development and successful implementation and management of the Chancellor’s initiatives and campus goals.

I am excited about the new leadership roles for Mike and Bob. I look forward to their continued contributions as they, along with the entire administrative team, work to advance the mission of our campus. Please join me in congratulating Mike and Bob!

Sincerely,

Antonio D. Tillis, Ph.D.
