J.D. Student in classroom

Juris Doctor in Law (Part-Time Program)

Program Overview

The Part-Time Juris Doctor (JD) Program at Rutgers Law School offers a flexible path to earning a law degree for students balancing professional, personal, or family commitments. Designed for working professionals and non-traditional students, the part-time program provides the same rigorous legal education as the full-time JD program, with courses offered in the evenings and on a modified schedule.

Students in the part-time program complete the same foundational curriculum in constitutional law, contracts, torts, criminal law, and legal writing, while progressing at a pace that fits their lifestyle. The program is available at both the Camden and Newark campuses.
