Digital Politics Certificate
Program Overview
The Digital Politics Certificate Program (DPCP) at Rutgers–Camden is a dynamic interdisciplinary initiative offered jointly by the Center for Digital Studies and the Department of Political Science. This program explores how digital technologies and social media are reshaping political behavior, advocacy, freedom of expression, and international relations. Students will gain a deep understanding of how the digital revolution is disrupting traditional power structures and political processes.
To earn the certificate, students must complete six courses (18 credits), including:
- Three core courses:
- Introduction to Digital Politics (790:218)
- Introduction to Digital Humanities (209:101)
- Digital Politics/Studies Capstone Project (209:401)
- Three electives:
- One applied Digital Studies course (e.g., Introduction to Digital Video or Computer Graphics)
- One Political Science course
- One politics-related course from Political Science or another department (with approval)
