Funding Opportunities & Proposal Development
A variety of supports are available to assist you with finding appropriate external funding opportunities and developing a proposal.
- Pivot and grants.gov are databases of funding opportunities
- You can sign up to receive emails about funding opportunities.
- The Rutgers-Camden Research Office can assist with finding funding opportunities, identifying potential collaborators, and preparing your proposal.
- The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs supports the submission process and ensures compliance with university procedures.
Support from Rutgers can be used to collect pilot data or support small projects.
- The College of Arts and Sciences offers a small grant program with a variety of opportunities.
- The University has two primary mechanisms available: Research Council grants and Busch Biomedical Grants.

Teaching
The university values excellence in teaching and has a variety of programs in place to support continuous improvement in this area.
Instructional Design & Technology
The Instructional Design & Technology (IDT) office at Rutgers University–Camden supports faculty in all pedagogical endeavors. They specialize in course design and redesign and the appropriate use of technology to support teaching and learning goals. They assist all instructors with research-driven (or experimental!) pedagogical projects to improve, strengthen, and invigorate the experience of learning and teaching at Rutgers University–Camden.
- The Office of the Provost sponsors a series of Lunch & Learns throughout the year, each featuring a panel of faculty members speaking on a teaching-related topic of interest. Information about specific programs is emailed to all faculty.
- IDT offers regular webinars on both basic and advanced topics in pedagogy and instructional technology
- Other offerings periodically include book clubs on pedagogical topics of interest, summer course refresh programming, and a one-day conference on pedagogy
Thinking about Artificial Intelligence in Teaching and Learning?
- Rutgers offers guidance on artificial intelligence in the classroom.

Faculty Diversity: They offer a variety of programs for faculty at all stages, including a Faculty Success program, writing challenges, and workshops
New Faculty Orientation
The campus offers an orientation for all new full-time faculty members each August-September. In addition, the Provost’s Office offers a year-long series of programs and workshops for all new full-time faculty throughout the academic year.
Rutgers-Camden Faculty Leadership Program
In collaboration with the Rutgers Office of Organizational Leadership, Rutgers-Camden offers a year-long cohort-based program for faculty leaders.
Tenured Associate Professor Success
The Office of the Provost regularly offers programs to support tenured associate professors as they advance along their path to promotion to full professor.
Faculty Writing Groups
In partnership with the Camden College of Arts and Sciences, the Office of the Provost sponsors faculty writing sprints (week-long daily writing sessions) as well as ongoing faculty writing groups to support research productivity and community-building on campus.
Lecturers
Lecturers have a variety of resources at their disposal:
- Lecturers have a variety of supports available, including opportunities for promotion and a dedicated professional development fund.
- The Office of the Provost offers an orientation session for new Lecturers to assist them with their transition to the campus, as well as periodic professional development and networking events for Lecturers.
Mentoring
Departments and schools provide mentoring through a variety of programs, both formal and informal. Contact your department chair and/or dean for details.
