Rutgers–Camden Presents Thesis Exhibition Featuring Works by 28 Visual Arts Graduates The senior thesis exhibition, titled “Ask Me Anything,” showcases the exceptional work of the first graduating cohort of the BFA program in visual arts.
Camden, NJ – May 6, 2025: The Rutgers University–Camden Department of Visual, Media, and Performing Arts (VMPA) is presenting its annual senior thesis exhibition, "Ask Me Anything," at the Stedman Gallery from April 28 to May 16.
The exhibition celebrates the first cohort of graduating students enrolled in the newly established BFA program in visual arts. It features a range of works in painting, drawing, photography, graphic design, animation, and sculpture.
Alejandro Loureiro Lorenzo, assistant teaching professor and director of Rutgers– Camden’s photography program, curated the work of 28 accomplished student artists, showcasing the visual experiments and investigations they explored during their time at Rutgers.
The exhibition “reflects the innovative spirit of our art department and highlights the diverse media and experimental approaches that our students have incorporated into their projects,” Lorenzo said.
The annual thesis exhibition, established in 1985, also recognizes one student with the Stedman Purchase Prize. The winning student artist’s work will become a part of the Rutgers–Camden collection, which holds over 750 works from the 17th century to the present.
This year’s exhibition comes as the university celebrates both the 50th anniversary of the Stedman Gallery and Rutgers–Camden’s Year of the Arts.
