Rutgers–Camden Student and Bronze Star Marine Named 2025 Truman Scholar Finalist
Camden, NJ – March 17, 2025: Rutgers University–Camden is pleased to announce that Duane Horne CCAS’26 has been named a 2025 Truman Scholar finalist. Horne is one of 201 finalists chosen from 137 institutions nationwide for this prestigious public-service scholarship.
Horne, a Marine Corps combat veteran and Bronze Star recipient, is pursuing a bachelor's degree in health sciences, primarily focusing on public policy. He is a member of the Honors College at Rutgers–Camden and the Mountainview community, a program that supports individuals seeking to change their lives through higher education.
“I am motivated to serve others—especially other veterans—and pursue a career in government influencing and developing effective public health policy,” said Horne. “I am hopeful this experience will help me springboard into that realm.”
The Truman Foundation’s Regional Review Panels will occur over the next several weeks, and the winners will be announced in April 2025.
