Grammy-Winning Jazz Ensemble Ranky Tanky to Perform as Part of Rutgers– Camden’s Year of the Arts

The two-time Grammy winners will appear on March 6 at the Scottish Rite Auditorium.

Camden, NJ – February 27, 2025: Rutgers University–Camden is pleased to welcome twotime Grammy winners Ranky Tanky to the historic Scottish Rite Auditorium in Collingswood, N.J. on Thursday, March 6, at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

Rooted in the sounds and traditions of South Carolina’s Gullah culture of the southeastern Sea Islands, the Charleston-based quintet’s lush vocal harmonies and expert musicianship offer a unique blend of the new and the familiar. They have been featured on NPR's "Fresh Air with Terry Gross" and NBC's "TODAY Show" and have appeared at the Philadelphia Folk Festival, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

Year of the Arts aims to bring diverse audiences together through the transcendent, universal power of artistic expression. From homegrown Rutgers–Camden talent to internationally recognized touring acts, the events seek to celebrate the depth and breadth of artists who practice their craft in Camden or speak to the diverse tastes of the multicultural campus and community.
