Rutgers University–Camden to Present Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing”
The timeless comedy is on stage for two weekends beginning April 10.
Camden, NJ – April 2, 2025: Rutgers University–Camden presents William Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing” beginning April 10 at the Walter K. Gordon Theater. This final production of the 2024-25 theater season runs through April 19.
The production, directed by Damon Bonetti, co-founder and artistic director for The Philadelphia Artists’ Collective, takes a modern look at the classic romantic comedy about love and deception and features a cast of Rutgers–Camden student performers.
“Shakespeare becomes more relevant as each year passes,” said Bonetti. “In Shakespeare's plays, we learn how to be more human as the good, bad, and all the complexities in between are presented on stage."
The production is part of the university’s Year of the Arts, a celebration designed to highlight the depth and breadth of artists who practice their craft in our community and demonstrate the incredible unifying power of music, theatre, dance, visual art, literature, and poetry.
