Rutgers School of Business–Camden and Northeast Gas Association Launch Third Cohort of Leadership Program

CAMDEN, N.J. – September 25, 2026: Rutgers School of Business–Camden and the Northeast Gas Association (NGA) have launched the third cohort of “Leadership in Tomorrow's Utility,” a leadership development program designed for emerging professionals in the natural gas and utility industries.

Developed jointly by Rutgers–Camden and NGA, the program combines leadership training, industry-focused instruction, and applied learning opportunities to help participants strengthen management and decision-making skills while examining challenges facing utility organizations.

"This program, together with our Utility Regulatory Ratemaking Professional Certificate program, demonstrates our commitment to developing the talent and leadership needed to support safe, reliable, and affordable utility services for homeowners and businesses throughout New Jersey and the broader region," said Peter McAliney, director of professional and executive education at the Rutgers University School of Business–Camden.

The program includes coursework addressing leadership, organizational strategy, regulation, and utility operations. Participants also examine financial and regulatory issues affecting the energy sector.

"As our industry works to balance infrastructure investment, reliability, safety, and the transition to new energy technologies, it is increasingly important for emerging leaders to understand the role ratemaking plays in energy affordability," said industry speaker Dylan D'Ascendis, a partner at management consulting firm ScottMadden specializing in investor-owned and municipal utilities and authorities, and an alumnus of Rutgers School of Business–Camden.

According to Alana Daly, NGA vice president of corporate affairs and policy, the program provides participants with access to both academic expertise and industry perspectives.

"NGA's ongoing partnership with Rutgers–Camden allows us to offer our members the advantages of a respected academic institution while maintaining a focus on what's important to our industry," Daly said.

The third cohort includes professionals from utility and energy organizations across the region, including National Grid, Consolidated Edison, New Jersey Natural Gas, Philadelphia Gas Works, and Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp.

The Rutgers School of Business–Camden and NGA launched the program in response to growing demand for leadership development opportunities within the utility sector.
