This annual panel discussion featuring agents and editors sheds light on how a book goes from manuscript to bookstore shelves. This event will be held on Zoom.

About the Panelists

Audrey Crooks is a Literary Agent at Trident Media Group. Prior to joining the agency in 2020, Audrey was an intern at the Frances Goldin Literary Agency, a bookseller, and from 2017-2018 she lived in Jordan, working for a nonprofit serving Gazan women refugees. Audrey’s academic background is in poetry and Middle Eastern Studies, and she represents a variety of writers working in literary and upmarket fiction, narrative nonfiction, and select memoir.

Michael Wheaton is the author of the essay Home Movies (BUNNY, 2024). His writing has appeared previously in Essay DailyDIAGRAMBurrow Press ReviewHAD, Rejection Letters, and other online journals. He publishes Autofocus Books and produces The Lives of Writers podcast.

Jade Wong-Baxter joined the Frances Goldin Literary Agency in 2021. She previously worked for three years at Massie & McQuilkin Literary Agents as a junior agent and foreign rights associate. A graduate of Vassar College, Jade got her start in publishing at Writers House, W. W. Norton, and Folio Literary Management. Her clients include Chris Belcher (Pretty Baby, Avid Reader, 2022); Delia Cai (Central Places, Ballantine, 2023); and Hannah Matthews (You Or Someone You Love, Atria, 2023). Jade is looking for adult literary/upmarket fiction and narrative nonfiction, with an emphasis on narratives by and about people of color, as well as the perspectives of marginalized identities. Her other areas of interest include magical realism, memoir, cultural criticism, and Asian-American history.
