Camden, NJ – March 17, 2026: Rutgers University–Camden will host “An Evening with Percival Everett,” a special Chancellor Centennial Lecture featuring the acclaimed American novelist and scholar, on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Walter K. Gordon Theater, 314 Linden Street, Camden, NJ 08102.

The event will begin with a talk by Percival Everett, followed by a reception and book signing. Books will be available for purchase onsite, and attendees are encouraged to participate in the signing (limited to one book per guest).

Percival Everett is the author of the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award-winning novel, “James.” Renowned for his inventive storytelling, incisive satire, and boundary‑pushing literary style, Everett has earned widespread acclaim for works that explore identity, culture, and the possibilities of narrative form. 

Beyond his writing, he is a dedicated scholar and educator at the University of Southern California, where he mentors and inspires the next generation of writers and thinkers.

This lecture is part of the Rutgers–Camden Centennial Celebration and underscores the university’s commitment to fostering enriching cultural and intellectual engagement within the campus and broader community.
