Peer Mentor Program

Honors College student Jalyssa Cruz designed and implemented the Peer Mentor program in the spring 2020 semester. Each year, about 20 students participate as peer mentors, and mentor nearly 100 first-year students who join the Honors College. Mentoring activities include one-on-one meetings, Peer Mentor events and activities, and a year-long study and discussion of mentoring theories and practice.

Honors College Digital Badging Program

The Honors College at Rutgers University – Camden is proud to offer a robust digital badging program to our students. Over the course of each academic year, students will have several opportunities to earn digital credentials for soft skills, which in turn, will help to empower our students to land some of the most sought-after internships and entry-level careers. These digital credentials can be added directly to a student’s LinkedIn profile, and students can also print out paper copies of our badges.

Our badging program requires students to attend a collaborative workshop, and for most badges, students are also asked to complete a reflective assignment, as well as an experiential task.

Honors College IMPACT Day 

The Honors College IMPACT Day is our annual required orientation for incoming first-year students. We meet at the Honors College and then walk together to Pyne Poynt Park to do two group projects: canoe together in 10-person canoes on the Delaware River and create a communal art project. New first-year students will meet peer mentors and other current students at IMPACT Day. We also enjoy snacks and ice breaker activities!

Honors College IMPACT Night

Honors College seniors must participate in IMPACT Night to complete their Honors College requirements. IMPACT Night is only offered in the spring semester. 

Honors College IMPACT Night is typically held on one of the reading days at the end of the spring semester. This capstone night is a great opportunity for your family and friends to learn about a significant project that you completed at Rutgers-Camden, enjoy a reception, cheer you on as you receive your Honors College stole on stage (and take a picture at our Rutgers-Camden banner) , and then complete the night with a dessert reception.

All seniors are registered for the Honors College Capstone course, and must submit their presentation topic and materials by March 31. Seniors pass the capstone when they both register for IMPACT Night and present their work at the event.
