Dr. Saundra Tomlinson-Clarke

Interim Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor

Dr. Saundra Tomlinson-Clarke began her tenure as Interim Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor of Rutgers University–Camden on July 1, 2026, bringing more than three decades of academic leadership, faculty experience, and student-centered advocacy to the role. A licensed psychologist and longtime member of the Graduate School of Education faculty, Dr. Tomlinson-Clarke has been part of Rutgers since 1989 and is widely recognized for her scholarship in multicultural counseling, cultural competence, and social justice in education.

Dr. Tomlinson-Clarke previously served as Provost of Rutgers–New Brunswick from 2023 to 2025, following her tenure as Senior Vice Provost for Academic and Faculty Affairs. Her extensive administrative experience also includes roles as Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, Chair of the Department of Educational Psychology, Director of Training, and Program Coordinator for the Graduate School of Education’s Counseling Psychology program. Across these positions, she has led initiatives focused on faculty development, student success, academic program innovation, and inclusive excellence.

She holds a Ph.D. in Counseling and Human Systems from Florida State University, a master’s degree from Atlanta University, and a bachelor’s degree from Boston University. Throughout her career, Dr. Tomlinson-Clarke has remained committed to preparing culturally responsive educators and advancing equity-driven practices that strengthen learning environments and communities.
