History of the Stedman Gallery with John Giannotti

Join us in the Stedman Gallery at the Rutgers-Camden Center for the Arts for a talk by sculptor and Rutgers Professor Emeritus, John Giannotti, moderated by Professor Stass Shpanin, Interim Director of RCCA.
Enjoy refreshments, wine, conversation and mingling. Guests may receive complimentary tickets to a performance by Symphony in C in the Gordon Theater at 7:30 that same evening.
In celebration of the Stedman Gallery’s 50th Anniversary, Giannotti will share about the development of the Fine Arts Department, and the Stedman Gallery exhibitions and collection. In conversation with our current permanent collection exhibition, Emerging: the Stedman Gallery 50th Anniversary Show, the Stedman Gallery will bring out works from the vault specially selected by Giannotti for this program.
This programming is part of the Rutgers-Camden Year of the Arts celebration, sponsored by the Office of the Chancellor. About the Artist: Rutgers University Professor Emeritus, and Haddonfield-based sculptor, John Giannotti, received a BFA cum laude from SUNY Buffalo, an MFA from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers, and was a Visiting Artist at the Johnson Atelier in Princeton.
Giannotti was a faculty member at the Camden and New Brunswick campuses for thirty-three years until his recent retirement. In addition to his teaching career, he is known for his public sculptures and monuments and has exhibited his work internationally.
