This grant supports professional staff development training through professional conferences that offer symposia, workshops, webinars, aligning with the performative expectations of the applicant’s role. Specifically, the grant is designed for expenses (e.g., registration, materials, travel) that an employee’s department or other sources cannot cover partially or fully.

Criteria:
The Chancellor’s Grant for Staff Development aims to support the professional growth and development of Rutgers University–Camden's dedicated professional staff. To be eligible for this grant, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Eligibility:
Applicants must be current, full-time Class 1 professional staff members of Rutgers University–Camden.
Purpose of Professional Development:
The grant is intended to support professional development opportunities external to Rutgers University.
The purpose of the development should align with the performative expectations of the applicant's role within the university.
Professional Conferences/Webinars:
Priority will be given to applicants seeking funding for professional development training through attendance at professional conferences or paid webinars.
Conferences or webinars should focus on offering sessions that align with the applicant's job responsibilities and career development goals.
Expense Coverage:
The grant is designed to cover expenses related to the professional development opportunity, including but not limited to registration fees, materials, and travel.
Applicants should demonstrate that their department or other sources cannot cover these expenses either partially or fully.
Alignment with Department Goals:
Applicants should explain how the professional development opportunity aligns with the goals and needs of their department or unit.
Benefit to the University:
Applicants should outline how the knowledge and skills gained through the professional development opportunity will benefit Rutgers University–Camden and contribute to the enhancement of their job performance.
Reporting and Accountability:
Grant recipients are expected to provide a summary of their professional development experience and how it has impacted their work upon their return.
The Chancellor’s Grant for Staff Development is intended to support professional staff members in their continuous growth and development, enhancing their contributions to Rutgers University–Camden. Applicants who meet these criteria will be considered for this valuable opportunity.
If awarded, you understand that these funds are to be used for the development opportunity as requested. Please keep in mind, should something arise, and you are unable to attend for whatever reason, that money is forfeited. If there is another development opportunity you’d like to pursue, a new application is required.

Step 1: Application Preparation
Applications should clearly demonstrate how the proposed professional development opportunity aligns with the applicant's role and the department's goals.
Step 2: Budget Development
Create a detailed budget outlining the specific expenses they are requesting funding for.
Budgets should include estimated costs for registration, materials, and travel, as applicable.
Step 3: Application Submission
Applicants submit their completed applications, including the statement of purpose and budget.
Step 4: Application Review
Applications are evaluated based on eligibility, alignment with job responsibilities, budget accuracy, and potential impact.
Step 5: Selection and Award Notification
Successful applicants are notified through official award notifications.
The notification includes details about the grant, expectations, and funding disbursement.
Step 6: Reporting and Accountability
Upon return, grant recipients are required to provide a summary report detailing their experience and how it has contributed to their professional growth and performance. If you have photos to share from your experience and would give the University permission to do so, you will be directed to the office of Marcom.
